Kingdom of Galich is my old setting placed somewhere in East-Central Europe, invented originally for Spectre wargame and some 6mm madness I´ve fall into.
I would like to mix Russian based equipment with various favorite pieces from UK and French military industry. Namely Warrior IFV, Challenger and Chieftain MBT and VAB and AMX-10 RC vehicles.
Same with weapons, AKs mixed with British SA80s (I love their visual since I was a kid). Not sure about uniforms tho, but since the Kingdom will join NATO later, I presume it will be some modern style.

Since the Kingdom will be VERY loosely based upon "our" Central European reality, there will be themes like corruptions, oligarchs, organized crime, Russia meddling, "Little Green Men" at the borders, pro-Russian movements and so on.
Not sure about the scale of conflicts yet, but have some (supernatural) scenarios for Spectre in mind.
And now, let´s enter the the Galich.
Yes, this is the Kingdom of Galich in its glory.
As you can see, I ain´t no Photoshop master.
Landscape
Northern border with Poland, Russia,
Belarus and Lithuania is quite forested lowland with plenty of marshes, moors
and rivers and lakes. There are only two major cities in the North Galich – Tornava
and MalĂ˝ Gazdovec. Of these two, Tornava is more northern one with notable Belarus
population.
Central Galich is flat, covered in
fields and steppe plains with few rivers. Biggest of these rivers is Klivica, border
river with Poland and Kaliningrad enclave of Russia. Since it runs mostly along
the borders, after WWII it became a no-go zone for most people and after Cold
War this part became one of the biggest natural reservations in the world.
Central part of Galich contains most of
the major Galichian cities, amongst them the capital New Polana.
Most notable element of the South Galich
are Carpathian mountains running from Slovakia to Romania and stretches up to Ukraine. The only major city here is Plieskovec, lying just on the border between Carpathian mountain range and Pannonian basin.
Modern History
Kingdom of Galich gained its
independence during the dissolution of the USSR, roughly during the time when
Baltic states gets their independence.
The independence was negotiated in
between Galich royal family and government in exile, British PM John Major and
USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev.
First King to return from exile was Jakub
II who fled the country as a small child during the WWII and since USSR
“liberated” Galich by incorporating it, royal family stayed in exile in UK.

Young country was plagued by the corruption,
transition from socialism to capitalism, rise of a new wealthy oligarchy and an organised crime. Oligarchs and crime lords organized their own small armies, politicians
were easily bribed and Russia was all eager to saw chaos and friction in their ex-satellites.
These were so called “Wild Years” and
they ended up in a bloodbath.
On June 25th of 2001 was King
Jakub II assassinated along with his wife Queen Juliet on the order of oligarch
Milan Baserak and his fellow crime lords who wanted to use this situation and
with the help of GRU, they attempted a coup.
Fortunately, the least corrupted force
in a whole country was an army (which was also under funded and equipped
mainly with old and obsolete weapons). Though the army was unable to stop the
assassins, they caught almost all of them in a following gunfight.
Assassins, partially Russian officers and
partially local neo-nazis, rather quickly gave away the names.

Crown prince Rudolf IV survived the assassination
attempt, took control of the army and loyal police and other government forces
and at the same day of his parents death they strike back at the oligarchs.
Milan Baserak and few others were cut
down that evening in their compounds and homes, their mercenaries and mobs were
mostly routed and surrendered after death of their bosses.
This was the situation in central and
southern parts of Galich.
Northern parts bordering the Russia were
under influence of pro-russian separatists and oligarch Jan Taskieszki. Following
civil war, so called “Police action North”, lasted for four years and ended by
Warsaw peace agreement signed on April 15th of 2005 with integrity
of Galich uncontested. In theory.
...So, this is it for now.
Not sure when will I get back to this project as there are two 15mm armies incoming, but it will be done sooner or later
